Don`t Panic over Cellphone use by Kids

OTTAWA — Parents shouldn’t be panicked by Heath Canada’s new advice to encourage children under 18 to limit the time they talk on their cellphones, says a Canadian scientist involved in the massive international study that triggered the precautionary message.

“I don’t think people should be unduly worried about this, and it shouldn’t traumatize parents whose kids have cellphones. I think that would be an unfortunate consequence of this message if parents did become traumatized or panicked. Just put it into their kids’ minds, that if they don’t need to use it for long periods of time, it’s probably better not to,” Jack Siemiatycki said Wednesday. Read More
